Memorial Day Weekend and ET's 6th Birthday...

Despite the cold and rainy weather, we made the most out of our weekend together.  Friday night we grilled brauts and the boys played outside.  Nate suffered from a fever from Thursday through most of Saturday.  Luckily, it was just a fever and nothing else.  On Saturday we headed to Osaka's for lunch.  I thought it would be a fun place for the boys to experience.  ET loved the hibachi grill and chef!  Nate on the other hand was scared out of his mind.  When the chef lit the fire on the grill, Nate screamed and ran like the a crazy person.  It was actually quite humorous.  After a while he warmed up and smiled at a few of the tricks.  After lunch we came home and all of us took naps (ahhh....much needed).  That evening the weather cleared enough that the boys could go outside again.  ET showed off his new rollerblading skills (we were so impressed), and Jay planted a few more flowers around the front of the house.

On Sunday, we went to church and then headed over the MOA.  Every year since ET turned 2 he has wanted to go to The Rainforest Cafe to eat and celebrate his birthday.  I love that he has created his own birthday tradition!  Last year ET asked for a stuffed snake and we told him we already bought him enough for his birthday.  He remembered this all year long and wanted to go back this year and get that snake.  He was so excited!  He named his snake, "Mr. Rattlesnake."  He has cared for it like  a real animal since returning home.

On Sunday night we stayed in and watched a movie and ate popcorn.  The weather was in the 50's and we did not feel like doing much.

On Monday it rained again.  I went shopping for a good portion of the day, but couldn't find a single thing to buy.  All the stores were wiped clean from the Memorial Day sale.
