Nate's 1st Haircut!!!!

On Thursday, October 21st, Nate got his first haircut! I decided to bring him in to my good friend's salon (Beau Monde). The salon doesn't specialize in kid's hair so I didn't get a special certificate. However, I knew Amber would take good care of him and not cut too much hair off. For those of you who don't know, I brought ET to a Kid's Hair salon for his first haircut and I was grossed out with how dirty the place was. Also, the woman did not follow my request to only do a scissor cut and not use the buzzer. Needless to say, ET was freaked out and screamed through the whole thing. Nate's experience was much better. He got to sit in Jay's lap, and the buzzer was not used. He was so good and content the whole time.
I was in charge of video taping and taking pictures as he sat on Jay's lap. I completely forgot to grab the first lock of hair cut off. :( I am so mad at myself for that. We did manage to collect a few wispy hairs at the end. I put them in an envelope for his baby book, but I'm still bummed about forgetting to get that first lock of hair.

Jay and I both love looking at his new "do." He looks like such a little man now!

Sleeping Sweetie...

There are not too many opportunities lately for me to see ET sleeping being that he no longer takes afternoon naps. So when he fell asleep today during nap-time, I snuck in his room to take a peak, and of course take a few pictures.

9 Months Old & 4 Four Teeth Today!

Our sweet baby is nine months old today! He goes to the doctor on Monday for his check-up so I will have to keep you posted on his stats. He is doing so much now...
-Crawling FAST and cruising along furniture.
-Walking with the walker across the room independently.
-Loves MUSIC and loves to dance and clap along.
-Absolutely adores his daddy!
-Eats all finger foods, but not without a fuss. He is a bit more of a picky eater than ET was. His favorite foods are bananas, toast, diced cooked apples, pineapple, cheerios, cheese, peas, sweet potatoes, and broccoli. His least favorite foods right now are carrots, peaches, green beans, and many of those Gerber graduate microwave entrees.
-He holds his own bottle (sippy cup) but still is fed in my arms.
-He mimics "soooo big" by putting his arms up in the air.
-He loves the sound of his voice, but is only saying "na-na" occasionally right now.
-He just got his fourth tooth today. Now he has four teeth on the bottom!
-He recently just got his first pair of shoes.
-He loves to go around and crawl in the grass and feel the leaves, so he is getting frustrated the colder it gets. :(
-He loves to play peek-a-boo with friends and bro!

Here are some pics I took of him today...

Nate LOVES music

Nate has really shown a love of music in the last couple of months. He claps and dances to music and loves when mommy dances with him. He also loves when daddy plays the guitar. Here are a couple pics of him exploring with the guitar...

Crazy Kid...

I was in the other room when ET called me to come in to his bedroom and asked me to take a picture of him. This was what I found him doing...

We survived!

Well, it has been a long week here for us. Jay was out of town on business, and so I had to hold down the fort by myself. We sure missed Jay a lot! On Saturday, October 9th, the temperature was in the 80's! It was so beautiful outside. I walked the kids to the nearby park to play with some neighborhood friends right away after breakfast. I LOVE taking morning walks with my coffee! In the afternoon, I set up the sprinkler and let ET play in the water in his clothes. He had a blast! I took pictures because this will be the last time this year he will be in the sprinkler. It was crazy that I was even able to set up the sprinkler in October!

Whoa....

My morning conversation with ET over breakfast...

ET: "Hey Mommy....Do you know where babies come from?"

Me: "Where?"

ET: "From tummies!"

I Pause, and wait for any additional questions or comments....none.

Phew! I wasn't ready for that one yet! :)

NO MORE HELMET!!!

Here is a picture of Nate on Thursday, October 7th...the last day with his helmet.

These were some pics I took of him while in the backyard on Friday, October 8th...the first day without his helmet. I cannot tell you how many times I have kissed the top of his head since then. I am so glad we went through with it, but I am soooo happy we are done!
p.s. I think we need to discuss getting a haircut for him soon. He is starting to grow wings! :)

He loves feeling the leaves in the yard, and he is so good when I tell him, "no eating."

He's been making this silly scrunched up face for a couple days now. He's so adorable!

I'm not sure why, but the doctor gave us his helmet on a mold. Did they really expect me of all people to keep something like this!? It's not that I have no sentimental value...I do. So here, I took a picture of it. :)

The Little Things...

I think the nice thing about this blog is that I can record even the little things that go on in our life. So here are just a couple...

This picture shows ET mowing the lawn with daddy for one of the last times this year. He loved using the yellow and black toy lawn mower. Matter of fact, he loved it so much that he had daddy keep it "safe" in the shed when they weren't mowing. This summer anytime he heard daddy was mowing the lawn, he was out following him with his toy mower. :)

The other day I bought new jammies for ET. One of the pairs had a fire truck on them. ET was so excited and wore them with such enthusiasm. It was adorable to see him so excited about them. Well, for about two months now, ET has no longer needed afternoon naps. He sleeps in a little more in the morning sometimes (8am), but does very well throughout the day. He plays so nicely with his toys in his bedroom during the daycare's naptime. The other day, I went in to check on him during naptime and he had his new fire fighter jammies on. He popped up and said, "I'm pretending it is ni-ni time, so I get to wear my jammies." He had put them on over his clothes. I just thought it was so cute how much he loves those new jammies.

Enjoying a beautiful fall day...

On Sunday, October 3rd, we headed over to St. Paul near the river to take a stroll, enjoy the weather and each other's company. Things have been kind of busy around here lately, and so we wanted to take a moment to pause and enjoy the scenes of fall.

I LOVE this photo...it is a pic of our shadows. Although, I wish was holding Nate's hand and had Jay take the pic. Oh well, still cute!
